The idea for a Grand Prix race around the streets of Monaco came from Antony Noghès, the president of the Monegasque car club and close friend of the ruling Grimaldi family.

Grimaud, Var

The village of Grimaud is a perched village, with historical links to the Grimaldi family.

Les Loges, Seine-Maritime

At the end of the nineteenth century, the Grimaldi family (of Monaco), who also bear the name of Estouteville, used the manorhouse as a residence resort.

Levens

At the end of the 14th century, the destiny of Levens was linked to the whole County of Nice, which parted with Provence to form an alliance with Savoy on the initiative of the powerful John All Saints' Day, baron of Beuil, whose eldest son later became lord of Levens.

Lomellini Ewer and Basin

It may be that the pieces were made for the House of Grimaldi but later passed on the Lomellini, perhaps as a wedding gift or to mark a business transaction.

They were made in 1621 to 1622 and are decorated with episodes from the life of Giovanni Grimaldi, who was a member of one of the most important aristocratic families in 17th century Genoa.

Music of Monaco

Nicola Grimaldi I

Nicola Grimaldi (1645–1717) was born at the Castello della Pietra, Naples, a member of the noble Grimaldi family of Genoa.

Oberto Doria

His moves aimed to defend the Genoese Republic's integrity against the Guelph Fieschi, who wanted to create a personal seignory in the Levante Ligure, and the Grimaldi, who had usurped part of the Ponente.

Order of Grimaldi

The obverse central disc is in gilt, bearing a mounted knight carrying the coat-of-arms of Monaco (actually that of the Grimaldi family), surrounded by the legend "Rainer Grimaldi, Prince de Monaco".

Silicon Alley

First Tuesday, co-founded by Vincent Grimaldi de Puget and John Grossbart, became the largest gathering of Silicon Alley, welcoming 500 to 1000 venture capitalists and entrepreneurs every month.

Teggiano became a fief of other noble families including the Gomez da Silva, the Grimaldi, the Caracciolo, the Villani, the Colonna, the Calà and Schipani.
