Born in Hunmanby, Yorkshire, England, Wheater was a right-handed batsman, who scored 45 runs at 15.00, with a best score of 27 against the MCC.

Henry Sanderson Furniss, 1st Baron Sanderson

Furniss was created 1st Baron Sanderson, of Hunmanby, county York, on 18 June 1930 in recognition of his distinguished career in education.

Mark Denton
