Interpretation Act 1978

The Act repealed the whole of the Interpretation Act 1889, except for sections 13(4) and 13(5) and 13(14) in their application to Northern Ireland.


Enactment

In the Channel Tunnel Act 1987, except where the context otherwise requires, the expression "enactment" includes an enactment contained in that Act or in any Act passed on or after the date on which that Act was passed, and any subordinate legislation within the meaning of the Interpretation Act 1978.

Gender neutrality in English

The use of the generic he was approved in an Act of Parliament, the Interpretation Act 1850 (the provision continues in the Interpretation Act 1978, although this states equally that the feminine includes the masculine).
