In 2008, Chris raced in the Speedcar Series alongside various outings for JD Classics in their Group C Jaguar XJR-9 & XJR-11.
Weighing 900 kg, and powered by a 7 L 60 degree SOHC V12 developing 730 hp / 545 kW @ 7000 rpm, and 579 ft.-lb. / 785 N·m @ 5500 rpm, the XJR-12 could hit 368 km/h / 229 mph.
Steve Harper of MGA Developments did not produce the initial design concept in January 1991 (inspired by the Jaguar XJR-15 and the Ferrari 250LM), before Rover's in house design team refined the concept under the leadership of Gerry McGovern.
