He coined the phrase "String Music" and is also known for other phrases such as, "Stufferino" and "Lexington, K-Y." During his run, he worked with NBC, TBS, ESPN, TVS and Jefferson Pilot.
KCKK 1600's last day came in mid-December 2006 when Lincoln Financial Media (which purchased Jefferson Pilot) announced that the signal at 1600 AM would be flipped to become Denver's new ESPN Radio affiliate, KEPN.
During its Rhythmic tenure, they would attack KQKS on air and on the streets, but the tactics would backfire the following November when KQKS was sold to Jefferson-Pilot, who would later shake up the airwaves in February 1997 by moving KQKS to 107.5 and quickly reclaimed their listeners and ratings.
Since 1975, he has worked for WJLA-TV, Jefferson-Pilot and ESPN, where he is best known for his role as play-by-play announcer on the network's Sunday Night Football with Paul Maguire and Joe Theisman telecasts from 1987–2005.
