Jeffrey Gedmin

He earned his Masters degree in German Area Studies (Literature concentration) from American University in Washington, D.C. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from American University and also studied musicology for a year at the University of Salzburg in Austria.

Gedmin's writing has also appeared in the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, and he has been a regular columnist for Die Welt.

Before taking the helm at RFE/RL, Gedmin served for nearly six years as Director of the Aspen Institute in Berlin, a non-profit, non-partisan organization whose mission is "to foster 'enlightened' leadership and open-minded dialogue."
