At the WizardWorld 2006 Comic Convention held in Los Angeles, Marvel Comics announced that Campbell signed an exclusive contract with the company, and to work on a Spider-Man series with writer Jeph Loeb.
In Superman (vol. 2) #170, Jeph Loeb wrote a very controversial story where, in defending Lois Lane from certain death, Krypto almost killed Mongul by ripping his throat out.
Other early projects included co-writing an episode of Misfits of Science (which, like his later project Heroes, featured super-powered humans as a main theme) and Teen Wolf Too with Jeph Loeb.
