He played Goronwy Jones in the Doctor Who episode "Delta and the Bannermen" and appeared in numerous television light entertainment shows, including Victoria Wood, Jimmy Cricket and Babble Quiz.
He left school at 16 and spent the next two years working in a betting shop, before spending the summer of 1966 working as a Red Coat in Butlins Holiday camp at Mosney, County Meath, Ireland.
In a recent appearance was supporting Channel 4 magician Paul Zenon during his Stand-up show, as well as performing his own comedy magic act with Jimmy Cricket, Johnnie Casson, Bobby Knutt, Gorden Kaye, and others.
They were promoting a forthcoming tour in which they performed with other "semi-retired" acts such as Frank Carson, Brotherhood of Man, and Jimmy Cricket (all best known in the 1970s and 1980s).
