Ainsley Harriott

The son of pianist Chester Harriott, whose cousin was free jazz alto saxophonist Joe Harriott, his talents also lay in comedy and singing as well as cooking and Harriott formed the Calypso Twins with schoolfriend Paul Boross, releasing a hit record in the early 1990s, "World Party".

Joe Harriott

Abstract received a five star review from Harvey Pekar in Down Beat, the first such honour for a British Jazz record.

He died of cancer on 2 January 1973, and is buried in Bitterne churchyard, in Southampton.


Hank Shaw

Shaw played regularly both live and as a session musician for many British jazz musicians over the course of the next twenty or so years, working with Joe Harriott, Tony Crombie, Don Rendell, Tony Kinsey, Stan Tracey, Bill Le Sage, and others.
