2 unusual facts about Joel Klaiman

Joel Klaiman

Klaiman also worked in 2009 to breakout two new artists who went on to achieve number one hits under Universal Republic: Minnesota artist Owl City aka Adam Young with "Fireflies," and Cash Money's first non-hip hop mainstream success, UK singer/songwriter Jay Sean, with "Down."

The song was the first Cash Money single to hit the Top 40 top spot, and Owl City's "Fireflies" took over the #1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 immediately after "Down," making the two debut singles the only back-to-back number one hits from new artists via the same label in 2009.
