His production on Billy Joe Shaver’s “Everybody's Brother”, helped earn a Grammy nomination in 2007.
For the last song on the record "I saw the light", Cash, Perkins and Lewis were joined by Cash's son John Carter and his daughter Cindy Cash.
His similarity to Johnny Cash caught the ear of Cash's son, John Carter Cash, and led to John producing Mira's first record.
