Respected by the musical elite, Di Xiao has enjoyed private master classes with Alfred Brendel, John Lill, Peter Donohoe and Simon Trpčeski.
Zaidel-Rudolph also specialised in piano performance; her teachers included Goldie Zaidel, Philip Levy and Adolph Hallis in South Africa, and John Lill in London.
He has also recorded the complete Rachmaninoff Concertos and major solo piano works for Nimbus Records.

Lill has recorded for Deutsche Grammophon, EMI (Complete Beethoven Piano Concertos with RSNO and Gibson), ASV (both Brahms Concertos with the Hallé and Loughran) plus the complete Beethoven Sonatas and Tchaikovsky l with the LSO and Judd.

The 2014 Piano Festival Faculty includes: Janina Fialkowska, Horacio Gutiérrez, Niel Immelman, Vadym Kholodenko, Stephen Kovacevich, John Lill, Ferenc Rados, Staffan Scheja, and Dame Fanny Waterman, as well as the orchestra’s own Music Director, Marios Papadopoulos.
After winning second prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition and first prize at the Vianna da Motta International Music Competition (ex-aequo with Nelson Freire), and especially after his victory at the ninth International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow (first prize ex-aequo with John Lill), his career as a pianist began.
