Francis Bertie Boyce

Memorials to Boyce were placed in the Sydney and Bathurst cathedrals and his portrait by Julian Ashton was presented to the National Art Gallery of New South Wales in 1917.

Sydney Long

The sale brought Long to the attention of Julian Ashton, a Trustee of the Gallery and founder of the influential Julian Ashton Art School (at that time called the Sydney Art School), and in 1907 he became Ashton's second-in-command in the school.

Thea Proctor

She studied at Sydney Art School from 1896 under Julian Ashton then St John's Wood School in London in 1903; they became lifelong friends and she modelled for him many times.
