Over the next 5 years Awareness Cambodia is looking to transform Sunshine House from its current “small village” status into a larger community called “The Awareness Cambodia Community” in Kampong Speu.

In 2000, land was purchased in Kampong Speu, and the first buildings were erected to make a home for children orphaned due to the ravages of AIDS.
The Council for Development of Cambodia approved the project on 29 December 2000 and in May 2002 the project re-commenced operation, providing electricity to Kampong Speu Province and Phnom Penh.

There are two hills in Kirirom National Park — Phnom Sruoch District and Kampong Speu Province — named after the two heroic princely brothers, Vorvong and Sorvong.
