The Jaycees English Medium School (or JEMS), is a school in Karkala in the state of Karnataka, India, which was founded in 1980 by the Karkala Junior Chamber under the leadership of K. P. Shenoy.
He joined politics in 1965 and went on to become the President of Paladka Panchayath in Karkala Taluk, Chairman of Moodbidri Town Panchayath, President of Taluk Marketing Society, Karkala, Co-operative Service Bank and District Janata Party of Dakshina Kannada.
During the Vijayanagara period, they expanded their kingdom to cover Sringeri, Koppa, Balehonnur, and Mudigere in Chikamagalur and most of the Karkala taluk.

But in Dakshina Kannada District and Udupi Districts of Karnataka, this language is being spoken in places like Durga and Maala of Karkala taluk and also in places like Shishila and Mundaje of Belthangady Taluk.
