The 2012 BIIF Champions were the Kealakehe High School Waveriders (7-0; 10-2) for Division I and the Konawaena High School Wildcats (9-1; 11-2) for Division II.

With this victory, the team received prestigious invitation to the World Championships held at the Edward Jones Dome in St Louis, Missouri.

The program placed a special focus on the FIRST Robotics competition, even though it included segments on the FIRST Tech Challenge, FIRST Lego League, and Junior FIRST Lego League.
