3 unusual facts about Kiev Metro

Kiev Metro

Possibly one of the most ambitious projects, but nonetheless a very important one, the fourth line of the Kiev Metro will connect the northern Troieschyna districts of the left bank with the future business centre of Rybalskiy Island on the Dnieper River, from there it will continue into the Podil region.

Carriages were brought to the Darnytsia Railway Station, after which they were transferred onto tramlines which crossed the Dnieper River by way of the Paton Bridge, finally arriving at a railhead beneath the Dnipro metro station.

It extends the metro system southeast along the right bank of the Dnieper River before crossing it on a covered bridge and then east from there.

Syretsko-Pecherska Line

Telychka is another unopened station, on the right bank of the Dnieper River, that is sealed off completely, with no illumination at most times, and has remained such since the tunnels were built back in 1990.
