The municipality is crossed by the II-19 highway from Gotse Delchev, Koprivlen, and Sadovo to the Greek border at Ilinden.
It ceased to exist in 1960 due to depopulation, as the inhabitants moved to other villages in the region, chiefly to Koprivlen.
