The academy began with a focus on strings only, founded by violinist Kurt Sassmannshaus, and added a piano department in 2013.
Born in Würzburg, Germany, he is the son of violin pedagogue Egon Sassmannshaus.

He participated in the Great Mountains Music Festival & School 2007, receiving classes with Hyo Kang, Kurt Sassmannshaus and Igor Ozim.
