The selection for 1986 was no exception; Sherisse Laurence, a little-known children's television host from Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada, was picked to sing Luxembourg's entry at the Contest that year, "L'amour de ma vie" (The love of my life).
Composers Rolf Soja and Frank Dostal returned to the Contest in 1986 when they co-wrote Luxembourg's entry "L'amour de ma vie", performed by Canadian singer Sherisse Laurence.
Her song "L'amour de ma vie" (The Love Of My Life), performed first on the night, was written by Frank Dostal and Alain Garcia and composed by Rolf Soja.
