Église du Bon-Pasteur

The Église du Bon-Pasteur is located rue Neyret on the slopes of La Croix-Rousse, near the montée de la Grande Côte, in the 1st arrondissement of Lyon.

La Croix-Rousse

The quarter is called La Croix-Rousse (The russet cross) because of the cross the Christians put there in the 16th century: made in stone from Couzon-au-Mont-d'Or, it was reddish-brown.

Lyon Tablet

The surviving bottom portion of the tablet was discovered in 1528 by a draper in his vineyard on Croix Rousse Hill (on the site of the Sanctuary of the Three Gauls), in Lyon, France.
