The Goddard sank in a storm on October 22, 1901 in Lake Laberge Yukon and was first found in 2009; the recordings were discovered a year later, after exploration of the vessel.

Lake Laberge

During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, after-winter steamers carrying goods on Lake Laberge early on in the shipping season regarded the lake as trouble, since it was one of the last such passages to thaw its ice.
