Landry of Paris

A statue of St. Landry stands behind the altar of St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas, Louisiana.

Consecrated bishop of Paris in 650, he built the first major hospital in the city, dedicating it to Saint Christopher, which is now the Hôtel-Dieu.


Ancient Diocese of Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne
