Kindred Spirits: A Tribute to the Songs of Johnny Cash is a tribute album to country singer Johnny Cash, released on Legacy Recordings on September 24, 2002 (see 2002 in music), several days after the previous tribute album to Cash, Dressed in Black.
The album was released on January 26, 2010 as part of the Playlist music album series issued by Legacy Recordings, simultaneously with similarly unsanctioned best-of collections of the bands and solo artists Mariah Carey, Blue Öyster Cult, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, 311, R. Kelly, KRS-One and the Backstreet Boys.
Sings the Ballads of the True West was re-issued in 2002 (see 2002 in music) through Legacy Recordings, with two bonus tracks, one of which is an instrumental version of a track available on the album.
The Johnny Cash Children's Album was reissued in 2006 (see 2006 in music) through Legacy Recordings, with four bonus tracks, including Henry Clay Work's "My Grandfather's Clock".
