In 1995, Shiras won the Wimbledon over-35 men's doubles title (partnering Paul McNamee).

Prior to his professional career, Shiras played tennis at Princeton University, where he was an NCAA All-American in 1979 and 1980.
In 1989, Zeeshan made the QF of a Challenger in Nigeria early in the year, and then qualified into tour events in Key Biscayne, Tokyo (where he beat Leif Shiras before losing to Stefan Edberg in R2), Singapore and London (Queen's Club).
