Ainiktozoon

The only discovered species, Ainiktozoon loganense, is known from a number of specimens from Silurian rocks (Ludlow series) at Lesmahagow in Scotland.

On 3 March 1689, with Thomas Lining and William Boyd, he took part in a solemn renewing of the covenants by a concourse of people at Borland Hill, parish of Lesmahagow, Lanarkshire.

Chasmataspidida

The latest chasmataspid to be recognised is Loganamaraspis dunlopi from a famous Silurian fossil locality near Lesmahagow in Scotland.

Lesmahagow

Lesmahagow Priory, founded by Benedictine monks in 1144, no longer stands but its foundations were excavated in 1978 and can be seen next to the Old Parish Church off Church Square.
