Reznor, Vale and non-Exotic Birds member Mark Addison were the fictional band "The Problems" in Paul Schrader's 1987 Cleveland set movie Light of Day featuring Michael J. Fox and Joan Jett.
This was enough to convince Bjørn Harstad (In The Woods... guitarist), Stein Roger Sordal (Soxpan ITW... live bassplayer), Kjetil Nordhus (vocals) and Bernt Andrè Moen (Shining) to join the band in time for the actual recording for the album Light of Day, Day of Darkness, a single track, 60-minute progressive metal epic again recorded in Dub-studio.

His most recent projects were the 2004 Light of Day EP, released on Diamond Soul Recordings, and his debut solo LP, Devoted, released in 2007, produced by Dan the Automator and featuring performances by former Spain guitarist Merlo Podlewski, keyboardist John Medeski, and turntablist Kid Koala.
The fourth title in the series was to include the X-Men - this game was partly coded by Scott Adams but never saw the light of day as a published game, as Adventure International became bankrupt during its development in 1985.
