Administrative divisions of Peru

Peru's territory, according to the Regionalization Law which was passed on November 18, 2002, is divided into 26 units: 25 regions (regiones; singular: región) and the Lima Province.

The Lima Province, located in the central coast of the country, is unique in that it does not belong to any of the twenty-five regions.

Callao District

On the east, the Callao district is bordered by the Carmen de la Legua-Reynoso as well as the Lima Province's districts of San Martín de Porres and downtown Lima.

Capital districts and territories

Lima, the nation's capital is contained entirely within Lima Province, the only province in the country not belonging to any of the twenty-five regions.

Javier Bedoya

From 1983 to 1986 Bedoya acted as sub-secretary of the Lima Province-PPC.


History of the Torneo Descentralizado

Only three clubs outside the Lima Province have won a national championship, the first being Unión Huaral (2 titles), the second being Melgar (1 title), and the third being Juan Aurich (1) which are also the only clubs to have won a national title outside the Lima Region.
