The principal secondary schools in Chinhoyi include the two government high schools; Chinhoyi High School and Nemakonde High School, together with the private high school of Lomagundi College.
Lomagundi has produced some great sportsmen and women over the decades, such as Greg Lamb (Cricket), Sean Ervine (Cricket), Brendan Taylor (Cricket) and Margaret Odendaal (Athletics).

The senior school boarding hostels were named after areas around Zimbabwe, namely Sebakwe, Mana (the two boys hostels) with Vumba and Charara being the girls hostels.
