At the 1945 election, all 11 LCS-sponsored candidates were elected, including Dan Chater in Bethnal Green North East, Percy Holman in Bethnal Green South West and C.S.Ganley in Battersea South.

It had creamerys located at various places in the West Country, including Puxton, Somerset which served as a regional railhead, product from which was transported via milk trains to the main London creamery and distribution point at West Ealing.
The station was located next to the London Co-operative Societies main creamery, and so was equipped with a dedicated milk train platform.

In 2006, Kirch celebrated his 70th birthday by announcing his plans to give everyone in Jersey, aged 70 or over, £100 in vouchers to spend in the island's Co-op supermarkets.
After this the conveco estate of stores was split up with all the Plymouth and South Devon stores being sold on to the Plymouth & South West Co-operative Society, and the rest retained by the Co-operative Group which now trade under the Co-op Welcome fascia.
There were 56 glasshouses owned by the Co-operative Society; the girls grew tomatoes, controlled the rats, and were billeted in Darlington.
The society was formed in 1861 and operated a single supermarket in Moulton, Northamptonshire.
