Bostwick had not shown up for a day's shooting, and the producers, Louis Scheimer and Norman Prescott, accused him of holding out for a higher salary.
Lou Scheimer was an art director for Larry Harmon Pictures during its brief foray into animated television; after Harmon exited the animation business, Scheimer formed Filmation, which went on to be a leading producer of television animation.
Scheimer's contribution to the cast was in fact most notable as he voiced several supporting characters, including Orko (and other characters with a similar Smurfs-voice), Stratos, King Randor and others, due to severe budget restrictions.
