Gerald Durani Martineau ( 1897 - died 29 May 1976 at Lyme Regis) was a prolific English cricket writer.
Nicholson was the son of John Nicholson, an oriental scholar of distinction, and the first English friend of Ludwig Leichhardt Nicholson was born at Lyme Regis, Dorset, England, was educated at Croft House academy, and emigrated to New South Wales in 1854.

Fossils of Coroniceras bucklandi are commonly found at Lyme Regis, Dorset Coast, England in the higher limestones of the Blue Lias.
The Darell Baronetcy, of Richmond Hill in the County of Surrey, was created in the Baronetage of Great Britain on 12 May 1795 for Lionel Darell, Member of Parliament for Lyme Regis and Hedon.
