Régis Debray

In a February 2007 op-ed in Le Monde, Régis Debray criticized the tendency of the whole French political class to move toward the right-wing of politics.

Guevara was captured in Bolivia early in October, 1967; on April 20, 1967, Debray had been arrested in the small town of Muyupampa, also in Bolivia.

He criticized the new generation in politics as being competent but without character, and lacking ideas: "So they think they recruit philosophy with André Glucksmann or Bernard-Henri Lévy and literature with Christine Angot or Jean d'Ormesson".

Thorwald Proll

Horst Söhnlein complied with the order; Thorwald Proll and the others went underground and made their way to France, where they stayed for a time in a house owned by prominent French journalist and revolutionary, Régis Debray.

Élie Barnavi

Barnavi was friends with Jean Frydman, a member of the French Resistance, and successfully persuaded Frydman to write an autobiography after Régis Debray and Romain Gary both tried and failed.

Neo-Communist Party of the Soviet Union

After the merger the two groups ideologically enriched each other through bringing together the ideas of Trotskyism and the New Left (mainly Herbert Marcuse, Che Guevara and Régis Debray) by PNC and the ideas of French atheist existentialism (essentially, Jean-Paul Sartre, Albert Camus and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry) by the "Left School".
