In 1987, she transported the tower of the former lighthouse at the Neptune Islands to Port Adelaide for inclusion in the collection of the South Australian Maritime Museum.

She is currently berthed at the old coal loader wharf in Balls Head Bay, Waverton, Sydney.

As of 2014 the surviving State Dockyard built ships are the MV Cape Don, a lighthouse tender built in 1962 for the Commonwealth Lighthouse Service which is now a museum ship at Balls Head Bay, Waverton.
