Oluwasegun Makinde (born 6 July 1991 in Maiduguri) is a Nigeria-born Canadian athlete competing in sprinting events.
The nearest the Nigerian railway system (1067mm) approaches Cameroon is Maiduguri over 100 km from the northern Cameroon border.
He attended Government College Maiduguri for his secondary education, and in 1975 was admitted to the Staff Training Centre, Potiskum where he obtained the Intermediate Local Government Certificate.
The country has two major rail lines: one connects Lagos on the Bight of Benin and Nguru in the northern state of Yobe; the other connects Port Harcourt in the Niger Delta and Maiduguri in the northeastern state of Borno.
