Social unrest in Cochabamba involved violent clashes between supporters and opponents of Cochabamba Prefect Manfred Reyes Villa in the departmental capital city of Cochabamba, Bolivia, reaching their peak on January 11 and 12, 2007.
Manfred Reyes Villa (born April 20, 1954) is a Bolivian politician, who was mayor of Cochabamba four times in a row and ran for the presidency in 2002 and 2009 against Gonzalo Sánchez de Lozada and Evo Morales Ayma.

He was also elected as the first Governor of Cochabamba, Bolivia, and served from 2006 until 2008 when he was unconstitutionaly revocated By Evo Morales through a series of violent riots.

A large uprising, Evo Morales and his government occurred in Cochabamba early 2007 with thousands of supporters of the President Evo Morales in Cochabamba demanding Villa's resignation.
