Mark Powley originally played Johnno but the role was recast in 2003 with Colin Wells.
Further to this he has made several one off appearances in many television shows including Holby City, New Tricks and Peak Practice.

Powley played the original Johnno Dean in the long-running UK drama series Hollyoaks as a recurring character from October 2002, before leaving in April 2003 and being replaced by Colin Wells when the series producers' decision to give Johnno a full storyline clashed with Powley's commitment to filming the TV movie Is Harry on the Boat?.
