Boris Khaykin

Khaykin is noted for his two critically acclaimed recordings of Khovanshchina: a 1946 edition with Mark Reizen, and a 1972 version with Irina Arkhipova.

Mark Reizen

He studied engineering at the Kharkiv Politechnic, and also voice at the Kharkiv conservatory with the Italian professor Federico Bugamelli in 1919-1920.


Boris Christoff

Owing to his stage presence and dramatic temperament, he was a worthy heir to the grand tradition of Slavonic basses exemplified by Fyodor Stravinsky, Lev Sibiriakov, Vladimir Kastorsky, Feodor Chaliapin, Alexander Kipnis and Mark Reizen, among others.
