Kerr was a grandson of Lord Charles Lennox Kerr, fourth son of William Kerr, 6th Marquess of Lothian.
She was the wife of Vice-Admiral Lord Mark Robert Kerr, third son of William John Kerr, 5th Marquess of Lothian.

Then in 1724 the officials in Lincoln gave the manuscript to William Pownall, who in turn sold it to Richard Ellys of Nocton, Lincolnshire who was an ancestor of the Marquess of Lothian.
