He is well known for his children’s book Jane and the Dragon (1988), which has since been adapted for television and produced by Weta Workshop.

Martin Baynton, co-owner and Executive Producer at Pukeko Pictures, is a writer and illustrator of children's books with over 30 titles published by major English and American houses including Walker Books, Penguin, Scholastic and Greenwillow.

Pukeko Pictures is a creative and commercial partnership between Bafta and Academy Award winners Richard Taylor and Tania Rodger (co-founders and creative leads at Weta Workshop) and internationally acclaimed author, illustrator and children’s television creator/producer Martin Baynton.
