FF Scala

FF Scala is an old style, humanist, serif typeface designed by Dutch typeface designer Martin Majoor in 1990 for the Muziekcentrum Vredenburg in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

Italic type

Fonts such as Jan van Krimpen’s Romanée, Eric Gill’s Joanna and Martin Majoor’s FF Seria have italic fonts that only have cursive designs, but not the leans typically associated with italic types.

Martin Majoor

The design département of this concert hall was one of the first in the Netherlands to use an Apple Macintosh computer for its printed matter.

In 1986 he started as a typographic designer in the Research & Development Department at Océ-Netherlands, where he carried out research into screenfonts.
