Matchmakers are an elongated chocolate confectionery product made by Nestlé.
Following the success of Betty & Veronica Double Digests attempt at a new look in 2007 with "Bad Boy Trouble", Jughead's Double Digest #139 (2008) begins a 4-part story entitled "The Matchmakers" using the same new character designs, in which Jughead is 'set up' with a girl.
Other cards included non-participants such as promoters, trainers, matchmakers, organization presidents and even a photographer (Tom Casino), all-time greats (Wilfred Benítez, Wilfredo Gómez, Salvador Sánchez-erroneously named Salvatore Sanchez by Ko cards-, Joe Louis, Muhammad Ali), contemporary boxers (Julio César Chávez, Terry Norris) and even comical cards (Bruce Strauss).
The first story to use the designs was "Bad Boy Trouble," which Butler also drew, and the second was "The Matchmakers," which was drawn by Joe Staton.
