Maurice Thompson

Arguably his most successful and well-known novel was Alice of Old Vincennes.

He followed it with a successful compilation of his published essays, The Witchery of Archery, which was well received for its wit and use of common language.

Maurice Thompson, 2nd Baron Haversham

After Elizabeth's death in 1712 he married secondly his first cousin the Honourable Elizabeth Annesley, daughter of Richard Annesley, 3rd Baron Altham, in 1737.

He was involved in trade in the Caribbean, and with Maurice Thompson and Samuel Moyer he financed trading ventures with west Africa.
