Michael Capponi founder of the Capponi Group,formed the Jacmel Advisory Council, to help revitalize Jacmel, while preserving its art's, culture and traditions.
His city wide efforts were recognized and Michael received his first Key to the City of Miami Beach by Mayor Neisen Kasdin as well as the Trailblazer award from the American Red Cross.

In November 2002, he co-chaired a fundraiser with actor Matt Damon for Damon's long time friend Lisa Maniscalco for Leukemia cancer research.
