It contains numerous uncommon plant species characteristic of unimproved grassland, such as greater bird's-foot trefoil, common knapweed and ox-eye daisy.
Wildflowers include common knapweed and lady's bedstraw, while brambles and roses climb the tombs in wilder areas.

There is also an area of meadow which contains common wild flowers such as lady's bedstraw and common knapweed.
The subcommunity also has many broad-leaved herbs including Common Knapweed (Centaurea nigra), Tormentil (Potentilla erecta), Devils-bit scabious (Succisa pratensis) and Betony (Stachys officinalis).
