Jack the Rammer

Roberts and Keys headed for the Monaro District, where they met up with Edward Boyd, and began bushranging.

Jack the Rammer aka Billy the Rammer was a bushranger in the Monaro District near Cooma in New South Wales during the latter half of 1834.

Michelago

It has been claimed that Michelago represents the territorial divide between white-backed and black-backed magpies on the Monaro highway from Canberra to Cooma.

Ngarigo people

The Cooma government web site states that "the two main groups on Monaro were the Ngarigo people of the tablelands and the Wogul or Wolgalu group in the high country.".

Rugby league in the Australian Capital Territory
