1909 Allan Cup

The Ottawa Cliffsides won the IAHU championship, surpassing the Montreal Victorias with a 5-1-0 record (Montreal was 4-2-0) to win the league title and be awarded the Allan Cup on March 6, 1909.

Dawson City Nuggets

Dawson City had two former elite hockey players, Weldy Young who had played for Ottawa in the 1890s and D.R. McLennan who had played for Queen's College against the Montreal Victorias in the challenge of 1895.

Hartland MacDougall

Dorothy (Molson) MacDougall was the niece of Percival Molson, one of Hartland's team-mates on the Montreal Victorias, and the sister of Senator Hartland Molson, who succeeded his father to the Presidency of the Molson Brewery.
