The concept of the art diary is also used by people working in related creative fields such as music; musician Brian Eno, for instance, is well known for his use of art diaries, excerpts from which were used in the Eno and Russell Mills book More Dark Than Shark.
The chapters - and the albums which they precede - are: The Prepared Observer (Here Come the Warm Jets); The Painted Score (Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy)); The Dynamics of the System (Another Green World); The Hidden Intention (Before and After Science); and The Words I Receive (this last chapter accompanies various collaborative songs).

Each album forms a chapter, and is introduced by a commentary by Rick Poynor, these commentaries largely formed through interviews with Eno.
