It is located 90 kilometres north-east of Whistler, the last 21 kilometres of which are a non-paved gravel road branching off the main paved from between Mount Currie and D'Arcy via Blackwater Creek, a tributary of the Gates River, a few miles northeast of the community of Birken.
The Lil'wat First Nation, aka the Lil'wat Nation or the Mount Currie Indian Band, is a First Nations government located in the southern Coast Mountains region of the Interior of the Canadian province of British Columbia.
The second was the boundary between the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal, where there was the large Umzimkhulu exclave of the Eastern Cape surrounded by KwaZulu-Natal, and the smaller Mount Currie exclave of KwaZulu-Natal surrounded by the Eastern Cape.
