Rancho Zayante

It included most of the present day communities of Felton, Mount Hermon and Olympia, along with parts of Ben Lomond, Quail Hollow and Brackney, but not Zayante.

Zallouh (Arabic: زلّوع) is made from the root of the herb Ferula hermonis, which grows at the height of 2000 meters above sea level on Mount Hermon between Syria and Lebanon.

It lies at an altitude of 1,175 – 1,500 m next to the village of Burqush in the Anti-Lebanon mountains, near Mount Hermon and close to the border with Lebanon.
